BROOKHOUSE L.I.F.E: Equine Assisted Learning

Brookhouse LIFE is an alternative education provision designed for young people with EHCP plans in place, or seeking EHCP plans due to disability; risk of exclusion or exclusion from school; experience of being in care, or any other barriers to education, or just young people seeking a quieter, more focussed environment.

We are happy to work with people with complex disabilities and are experienced in working from a trauma-informed position.
Our program works across KEY STAGE 1 – 3 and can be tailored according to your child’s individual learning needs and capacity, at their own pace, including if this falls outside of the above. The curriculum includes learning about horses at the same time as learning about ourselves and our needs, boundaries, and emotions. We will learn how to care for horses and ponies, including opportunities to gain Accredited and Recognised ABRS Care awards; work through art and self-expression and can also work through functional Maths and English curricula and assignments.

We are happy to talk directly with SENCO and Local Authority about the provision, and keep individual records of engagement..

Home Schooling classes at Brookhouse Farm

NEW INTAKE 

We are now taking new bookings for our home education classes.

Each 1 hour session is an exciting mix of ridden work and horse care , with each pupil following a syllabus of rosette awards and certificates accredited by the ABRS (Association of British Riding Schools)

Each pupil will receive a learning folder and educational material on each topic to work through during class and at home to enhance their learning.

Rosettes to collect include: Grooming, Points of the horse, Saddlery, Pony health, Feeding, Poisonous plants and lots lots more!!

Open to riders aged 6+
No experience needed
Weekly classes available

A fantastic alternative or addition to traditional subjects

At Brookhouse Farm Riding School, we offer top quality tuition from a highly experienced team of instructors. We offer structured lessons to suit all levels of riding, and passionately aim to help all of our clients achieve their riding goals and ambitions. The staff and horses at Brookhouse farm are committed to providing an excellent and friendly service, which will enable our clients to enjoy their riding experience, and increase their knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the horse. As part of the ABRS+ we also deliver a full range of ridden and stable management awards and qualifications.
